Larry
Williams should need no introduction. He is perhaps the
most famous futures market guru.
Larry
Williams has been a major force in the futures and stock
industries for over twenty years. His 1974 book, How I Made
One Million Dollars Last Year Trading Commodities, is a
true classic in the field and continues to be a bestseller.
He is also the author of several other very popular books
on futures and stocks.
Larry added to his fame when he entered the Robbins World
Cup trading contest and ran $10,000 up to over $2 million,
then lost over a million and by contest end had $1.1 million.
This indepth article is reveals the inside story of that
amazing trading feat. Hear the story from the man himself!
But
he is more than that. He is a manager of boxers, a sometime
politician and a top amateur archeologist.

We take
a break from trading talk to inquire about his forays into
politics and boxing and archeology.

how wide he places his stops!

test OOPS over a ten year period for 14 commodities to find
out if OOPS works. The answer: yes. But different markets

Larry
Williams' Million Dollar Challenge: Is It Worth It?
June
6 , 2004 - There
has been a lot of discussion going on in the Larry
Williams Study Group and Larry
Williams Forum particularly about the Million Dollar
Challenge. The key question is whether or not the MDC is
worth attending. The consensus appears to be yes with one
writer calling the seminar "awesome". I myself have attended
the MDC and also found it worthwhile. Larry was down a little
money at the end of the seminar but ended up ahead when
all the trades were finished.
Another
question being batted around is whether or not there is
a good Artificial Intelligence program out there. CTCR tackled
this issue a long time ago and felt that AI was not a great
avenue to explore. Basically, the programs out there are
glorified regression programs. So the key issues of garbage-in-garbage-out
and over optimization applied. That issue is out of stock
right now but we hope to have it in stock soon.
A great
post came from member Randy who talks about Smash Days,
gives the rules for them as well as the code for Genesis
for tracking them! Very useful! Thanks Randy!
Member
Guenter asks about programming in Larry's indicators into
Metastock since he doesn't use Genesis, which is Larry's
preferred platform.
We are
also starting to see some discussion on the Commitment of
Trader's Report. I'll be weighing in on it later this week
if I can find the time.
