READER QUESTION AT CTCR Online

Choosing Trading Advisors & Contacting the Big Man Directly (July 26, 1999)

"I would like your help in narrowing the field of choosing an advisor. Would you have a top 3 that you have confidence in? Thank-you D.B.

PS Been trying to call at 800 832-6065 and get a recording. Do you have a direct line to you?

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF COURTNEY SMITH'S ANSWER AT CTCR Online

Editor-in-Chief Courtney Smith: Thanks for the enquiry! You raise two interesting questions.
First, there are several advisors that have shown consistent profits over the years. However, we do not recommend advisors until we have had a chance to talk to the person who is looking to use an advisor. What is that person's risk tolerance? How much money do they want to invest? What is their time horizon? These are just a few of the key questions that we ask before we can make a recommendation.
But also remember that we only give these recommendations to our members. This is one of the key advantages to becoming a member. The 800 number you are calling is the best number to call. That is our general switchboard. Right now, our office supervisor is on vacation so she collects the calls once a day and returns them the next day. Since I am a professional money manager, I am not at that number. Once again, CTCR members can call me at my office with any question they have. So what happens is that members call the general number and the office then gives them my phone number and they call that number. Good luck and good trading!
