Courtney Smith: Thanks
for the interesting question. Actually, very few of the advisors
are registered. There is no requirement for people who are publishing
newsletters or fax services to register. However, people who
manage other people's money are required to register. We do
not believe that registration is a good protection against fraud.
Virtually all the biggest frauds in futures history have been
done by people who are registered. One of the reasons that CTCR
exists is to separate the wheat from the chaff. Advisors can
claim all they want about their track records but we are the
only ones that keep an independant record of their performance.
The government does not do that and that is what is important
to make sure you are not ripped off.
